In January 2015, the Chestnut Brass Company performed at the International Conference on Humanities in Honolulu, Hawaii- achieving our goal of performing in all 50 states. For 38 years, the CBC has thrilled audiences as the group has toured the United States with their museum quality collection of historical and modern brass instruments.
Having begun performing for lunchtime audiences on Philadelphia's Chestnut Street in 1977, their diverse programming has taken the ensemble across the United States and to nine foreign countries.
in April 2015, the Chestnut Brass Company will add Honduras to their list of countries as they embark on their second US State Department tour.
Each year, through concerts, masterclasses, residencies and educational programming more and more people are exposed to brass instruments. They learn of their rich history, diverse musical styles, and sonorous sounds through hearing the world class artisans, the Chestnut Brass Company in performance.
